Please join us in welcoming Tracy Yassini to the Cure CMD Family!
Dear CMD Community,
I am so honored to be a part of the Cure CMD international family as your Development Coordinator.
I take to heart the responsibility of garnering the resources to push forward life changing research and I am optimistic that our goals can be reached.
It was a 20 year journey to find each other, but I believe there are no accidents. My professional journey has taken me through some of the most renowned disease nonprofits--focused on everything from grant writing, major gifts, events, individual campaigns to small grassroots organizations raising funds the old fashioned way -- anything from phone calls to pancake breakfasts!
When I interviewed for this position, I knew that my unique combination of experience could be put to use in a space where everyone was committed to the idea that yes, a Cure is Among Us. After attending California State University, Dominguez Hills where I majored in Political Science and Minored in Economics, I was pulled away from my last semester to attend to my young son, newly diagnosed with Autism. At that time, very little was known and support and resources were almost nonexistent. Like many of you, I educated myself and became a fierce advocate for my child and have never regretted it for one moment.
Finally, I am a chronic (but pragmatic ) optimist. I believe this quirky combination can be somewhat attributed to being born in Hollywood and raised in Surf City, USA -- Huntington Beach, California. My two kids -- a 14 year old elite gymnast and the hardest working adult son I know -- keep me grounded. Salsa, yoga and faith keep me sane.
I am a part of your Cure CMD family now. Please know that you can reach out to me with any questions, ideas or to simply say "Hi!"
